vango airbeam Eclipse 600 and Canopy

We set off in the early hours of the morning to start our adventure to Scotland, full of excitement and trepidation. When we first arrived on the campsite at Hoddom Castle we were looking forward to pitching our Vango Airbeam Eclipse 600 tent and I was eager to find out if it was as easy to pitch as the videos demonstrated.

As we pitched the tent I was amazed that within 15 minutes the tent was up !! .There are no heavy poles to lug about you just pump up the beams of the tent. Then all there was left to do was to peg all the guide ropes. The tent itself was a very impressive 4.4m by 7.3m . It was a very sunny day when we arrived in Scotland and even though the sun was beating down on the tent it was relatively cool inside. We then added the front canopy that is very easy to add just blow up the tubes and zip to the main tent. This made the Vango Airbeam Eclipse 600 a grand tent of 8.3m by 4.4m . Perfect for a large family

I loved the idea of the 3 bedrooms being at the back of the tent,. Each bedroom would hold a double airbed, no problems. You have the added option of making the 2 of the bedrooms into one by just unzipping the adjoining wall. All bedrooms had fly sheet and zipped door for added privacy.

The living area was very well ventilated and it didn’t get too hot in the tent as the air circulated well through the tent. We had the added bonus of the carpet which added a luxurious feel to the tent. Not only was it very comfortable underfoot, but it made it extremely comfortable to sit on. The whole tent had lovely big windows and curtains that could be opened to open up the tent.

During the second night that was a massive thunderstorm with torrential rain and strong winds. The Airbeam Eclipse 600 tent withstood the wind and rain without any problems. Even the next day when it was gorgeous sun the tent withstood it all. There were no leaks and the tent soon dried in the sun.

The Airbeam Eclipse 600 tent was certainly a talking point of the camp as it majestically stood in the field. We had a lot of looks and people wanting to know what make it was. It certainly had a lot of admiring looks. I loved the fact the tent was so big inside it didn’t feel overcrowded. There was plenty of space for us all to have our own space as well. With the added addition of the front canopy it made a perfect dining room.
